will be available from 3PM to 5PM.

Bring Your Own PC Ticket

A Bring Your Own PC (BYO PC) ticket lets you access everything The Big LAN has to offer. Your ticket includes a seat at one of our rows of tables, an ethernet (network) cable that is already linked into our network (Wi-Fi is also available), two power points (one for your PC and one for your monitor), and a 3'x3' space to set up all your equipment in. You can connect any device you'd like including a laptop, desktop, Xbox, PlayStation, ROG Ally, Steam Deck, or Nintendo Switch, however a Windows based PC is recommended to get the most out of the day.

BYO PCs

A BYO PC 5+ group ticket is also available and is exactly the same as a BYO PC ticket but with a discount for bringing so many friends! Please note that this ticket type is not able to be combined with any AFK tickets or Rental PCs, but if you contact us via Messenger or Discord we can help customise you the best deal for your needs.

Away From Keyboard Ticket

An Away From Keyboard (AFK) ticket lets you access everything except for the major tournaments being run on our network, e.g. you'll be able to play split-screen games like Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart but not games that require access to the network like Rocket League (even though they may run on a portable device). An AFK ticket is best for players who want to play Nintendo tournaments, Chess, and VR games, and who don't want to bring their own PCs or devices.

AFK

Bring the most friends

Bring the most friends and win a fantastic prize! When you arrive at the venue and fill out our entry form you can tell us who invited you along. Whoever is mentioned the most times wins.

Grab what you can and battle it out with 2-4 players to be the last man standing in a game heavily inspired by retro and vaporwave shooters.

The Big LAN aims to maintain competitive rules while making this tournament accessable to new players. As such the map will default to Inferno for each game. Teams can discuss alternate maps they'd rather use per match and on agreement The Big LAN staff will configure the server accordingly.

Servers will be listed on the LAN with names matching the pairings (e.g. Team #1 vs Team #2).

Prizes

Arms Race

Race against the room to get to the golden knife in this classic mode! Single elimination brackets with the number of players progressing per round dependant on the total number of players.
Please listen carefully to the organisers for direction on which server you should join.

Prizes

"The Big Prize Wheel" is a separate prize wheel to the quest card system. All prizes on "The Big Prize Wheel" are of the value (or higher) that prizes would usually be for this tournament. A spin of "The Big Prize Wheel" always results in a major PC peripheral or part prize. More prizes may be added to the wheel than are depicted here.

Tips & Help

Joining Arms Race

CS2 does not support Arms Race at release, so you'll need to temporarily revert to CSGO to play.
1. Right click CS2 in your steam library and select properties.
2. On the left menu select 'Betas'
3. In the 'beta participation' dropdown select 'csgo_legacy - Legacy Version of CS:GO'.
4. Close the properties window, CS2 should start updating.
5. Once updated the game will now ask you if you want to launch CS2 or CSGO Demo Viewer at launch. To play Arms Race you want to select Demo Viewer.

Joining a CS2 LAN game

1. On the top menu select 'Play'
2. Select the image of a globe with a mouse pointer (next to 'Practice').
3. A new window will open. Select 'Counter Strike 2' in the top right dropdown.
4. Select the LAN tab and then select the game you'd like to join.

No games in the LAN lobby

1. Make sure the game is allowed through your firewall
2. Try switching TheBigLAN network to "Private" rather than "Public" by selecting "Network & Internet Settings" under the network option from the task bar, selecting TheBigLAN, and choosing "Private".
3. Try disabling all network interfaces besides the one you are trying to use. For example, CSGO will default to your first ethernet port for server advertisements regardless of if you are on Wi-Fi or a secondary interface.
4. Try connecting directly to the server via IP. The tech desk will be able to help you do this.

Tips & Help

FoV Modifier

When installing the game a mod is offered to give a Field of View (FoV) controller. Installing this file as per the instructions below may cause errors with certain graphics card drivers. If a “HAC error” occurs when booting the game delete the additional dll added to the controls folder.

Joining a LAN server

If you are running the game but can’t see the servers, ensure the game is allowed through your local firewall. If that doesn’t work, ensure all Network Interfaces are disabled except the one you are using. Failing that select the “Join via IP” option and ask The Big LAN staff for the address.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection - Halo 3

Grab your partner in arms and get ready for 2v2 Team Slayer, straight from the classic playlist!

Spawn in with the Assault Rifle and Battle Rifle of all and play a best of 3, first to 15 kills, single elimination tournament.

Note: Only one Halo Infinite server can be active on the one subnet. Please do not attempt to start your own when the tournament is being set up.

To join a LAN game select "CUSTOM GAME" on the main menu, then "CREATE MATCH" (not the server browser)

Help

In the resulting custom game menu select "SERVER" and then pick the bottom option. If no servers are currently active on the LAN it will be "LOCAL AREA NETWORK" and your machine will start a dedicated server in the background. If joining a game it will instead be the name of the PC hosting. The Big LAN staff will confirm the correct PC name for you to join.
